Gruffies' pumpkin surprise

My darling kitty, Theodore Thumper (because of his giant rabbit paws), wanted to help with the display.  Or maybe he just wanted to lay on the green silk .

I love the Gruffie stamps! Almost as much as I love the House Mouse mice. Almost.  Who wouldn't love the scary surprise of this stamp?

I used the sketch over at Priscilla Styles, home of the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge, for this lovely card.

Masquerade, anyone?

I was at my weekly billiards league, watching my teammates playing pool when I had a sudden idea of a ghost trick-or-treating as a devil.   The ghost came together easily enough.  His costume, not so much.  First, his tail was too thin, then too thick.  The tip was all wrong.  And the staff...I kept trying to get it to look like a pitch fork but how many devils carry pitchforks?  A little tweaking and viola, the staff.  I hope you like it.

Cardstock (Recollections): Paper (DCWV); brads (Spare Parts); eye brad (Spare Parts); felt

Another swing card

I made another swing card and while I like the swinging of it, I am unhappy with this one.

I like the stamps (Craft lounge) and I like the paper I used.  I even like the photo corners and flower.  I just don't like all the brown.  It's seems so blah.  I keep telling myself  "it's clean and simple."  Unfortunately, I see boring.

Ingredients
Cardstock (Recollections); Paper (DCWV); Stamps (Craft Lounge "Peek-a-Boo"); Flowers (Spare Parts); Pencils (Prismacolors); Punches (Martha Stewart "photo corner", unknown "corner edger")

Altered bathroom plates

My husband and I have been remodeling our main bathroom.  We tore out the old laminate floor and stripped the wallpaper.  New tile floor and new paint and it was almost done.  Except a couple small details.
CHEETAH PRINT!!!

Here is the boring, biscuit colored plates on top of the cheetah print paper I decided to use.

Afterwards...three boring plates to awesome! (Can you hear the angels singing?)

And installed.  Doesn't that plate look much better than old boring biscuit.

Halloween spring card

I've been wanting to do a spring card for a while but the truth is I thought they were going to be difficult.  Well turns out I was wrong...and right.

Ok, mostly wrong.  The template was easy.  Cut it out, score a few lines and voila, I had the base for my spring card.

However, I can't get the darn thing to stay up.  Did I make the front too heavy? Did I not use a strong enough card stock? (I used patterned paper for the base of the card.)  How can I correct this?  The saga continues until I find the answers.

Anywhoo...here is my first spring card.

I couldn't find any flowers that I really like for this card so I made my own.  One day, I'll have to learn to make those fussy and fancy flowers but until then, these will do.  I flipped up the ends of the flowers to give them more depth.

Ingredients: Card stock (Recollections); patterned paper (DCWV); Stamps (House Mouse); Ribbon (Recollections); jewels (Mark Richards); adhesive (Xyron, Elmer's craft bond); Ribbon; Pencils (Prismas); Punches (The Paper Studio)

Challenges:

Halloween easel card

Another day, another creation!    This one is an easel card.  I was planning on inking the brad I used but changed my mind when I decided to go with the candy.  I still used the brad; except I place three candy corns on the brad.

I like making easel cards but I have one problem I can't seem to fix.  Why won't the card stay up?  Am I missing a brad (or something like it) that should be placed behind the standing part?  Hmm, guess I'll have to do some more research.

Halloween Swing Card

I have oodles and oodles of Halloween cards to create.  The only thing is that I don't like do assembly line creating.  So after a little prodding from a dear friend, I decided to try a swing card.  My first ever.  Naturally that means there are some extra score lines but luckily only I (and now you) know that they aren't supposed to be there.

My supplies...

Yeah! Completed!! Only I found the sentiment I was going to use would have been only half seen. So I made a last minute switch.

In the middle of swinging

Sketch N Stash Challenge 69

I love card sketches.  I haven't been doing any scrapbooking or cardmaking since January.  I thought it would be fairly easy to jump back into it but alas, not so much.  That's why I love sketches.  It takes some of the work away.

I used this sketch over at Sketch N Stash.  I used my new-ish printed paper and pearls for this challenge.

Here is my take on the sketch...

Paper: The Paper Studio, American Crafts (Simply Chich); Stamp: Studio 112; Pearls: The Paper Studio; Pencils: Prisma

I also include this card in Incy Wincy Challenge 109 (Pearls and Diamonds)

Back to school...

...unfortunately means little time to craft.  Sigh.  It wasn't like I've been secretly creating and not sharing, I haven't; but, it would've been nice to have a little longer between semesters this time.  I need to get my mojo working so I can create with the little amount of time I do have.  Maybe someone can send me some of their mojo.  Anyone? Anyone?
